AnkoRP Returns
AnkoRP returns even better than before!
With this reopening, Ive added plenty of new content to the server as well as making the gamemode base more stable.
New Map
I've done away with the strange non-rotation of five Construct maps and changed to one single map: rp_SouthSide.
This map is less open but more complex, and also has a ton of buildings in an attempt to increase the "RP" part of AnkoRP.
With this map change, each team now has a designated spawn zone with their own sets of gamemode entities, as well as brand new NPCs at certain locations.
NPCs
The Crime Boss resides in his office in the Club and offers Bounties to players who are willing to take them.
The Pawn Broker works in his Pawn Shop, awaiting skilled thieves who manage to bring him loot.
Nurses are stationed at the Pharmacy and every floor of the Hospital to provide players with free healing.
Citizen Tweaks
While I'm not trying to encourage everyone sitting as a citizen job, I've tried to make the whole team slightly more viable and fun.
The Fisher and Miner jobs have been removed, and the addons along with it. You can no longer fish or mine at all, which isn't an issue because these two things were boring and inefficient.
I've added a Bitcoin Miner job and a matching Bitcoin Miner entity. It works just like a money printer, no extra complicated building or anything.
The casino machines have also been removed for good, as they weren't too great either.
Monster Tweaks
I've tried to make Monsters more viable to play as.
Each monster - except the Corpse - now have a special ability to help them survive.
Zombies cause bleeding damage when they hit an enemy,
Fast Zombies can lunge forward at their enemies,
Charples ignite any enemies they hit,
Zombines can detonate in a powerful explosion, and
Skeletons have a 25% damage resistance.
New Ways to Play
With a new map comes brand new ways to make money and have fun!
Money Events
Every round, there is a chance for a Money Event to start.
When this event starts, some loot will spawn at one of five predetermined locations. World Corp, the Bank, and the Barge can all have gold or money, while the Remote Warehouse has weapons, and Richman Jewelers will have diamonds. Players will have to fight for these stacks to get the money promised from them.
Money stacks are instant, gold and diamonds must be turned in at the Pawn Shop, and the weapons can simply be picked up.
Counter-Terrorists have orders to protect these items, and will be rewarded if they do so successfully.
Contracts
Every time you spawn, there's a chance you'll be offered a contract.
If you accept this contract, you'll be asked to get a certain number of kills with a certain weapon class. If you complete it before the next round, you'll get a nice instant cash bonus.
Keep completing contracts and the Contractors might even start offering you more.
Bounties
If you feel like making even more money by killing a specific player, head over to the Club and speak with the Crime Boss to see if he has any active bounties on players. If you choose to accept any of these bounties, you'll be rewarded handsomely.
Doing enough of the Crime Boss's dirty work will help him offer you more lucrative rewards.
New Weapons
The wonderful developer of the CS:O weapons, Kamikaze, has been continuously updating the CS:O packs, including twelve brand new weapons.
Weapon Skins
In addition to the brand new weapons, Kamikaze has also been busy giving some weapons skins, some of which are cosmetic and some of which give the weapons better stats. These are as follows:
Weapons with purely cosmetic skins (53):
Weapons with skins that enhance the weapon (26):
In order to obtain these skins - cosmetic or otherwise - you must buy the new Artist's Workbench and get to work!
Credits
If you've ever played on SweptTTT and accumulated points, those points will carry over to ingame Credits.
As with SweptTTT, these Credits have no use, so they serve as more of a "loyalty system" than anything else.
HUD Changes
The HUD now has an ammo type image next to the ammo counter, as well as a secondary ammo counter above the primary ammo counter.
Additionally, the HUD now contains icons that will appear under certain circumstances, such as when carrying loot and being healed by a Nurse.
Backend Stuff
I've worked on optimizing the whole gamemode to make it easier to add things and do more in the future. The main thing was making the round timer more reliable and consistent.
All data was moved from text files to the SQL database, but you won't even notice that difference.
